Noëllie Jacquot-Portefaix

Born in 1992 in the south of France, Noëllie Jacquot-Portefaix has been a freelance photographer since 2017.
She works for the press, institutions and professional clients (reports and portraits).
In 2013, after two years studying arts and literature in preparatory classes for the Grandes Écoles, she graduated from a Bachelor in Modern Languages and Literature (specializing in journalistic and literary writing).
Noëllie discovered photography in 2014, during a five-month trip to Canada. Struck by Canada’s immense landscapes, she grabbed her smartphone and took her first photographs. She learned the basics of photography such as framing when she was handed a camera to document meetings and music shows (YouTube live streaming).
Back home, Noëllie became a web reporter for the UFOLEP (French sport federation). She now produces reports for the French Red Cross on a regular basis, documenting the interventions of the humanitarians in her region. Concerts, portraits, private and public events : she hones her skills on every occasion.
Inspired by photographers such as Alex Webb and Josef Koudelka, she is now exploring the road of photojournalism with an author’s perspective. She particularly enjoys highlighting singular approaches and life paths ; going on adventures, listening, taking time and reveal the whispers of the world.

Noëllie Jacquot-Portefaix est photographe indépendante depuis 2017. Elle travaille pour la presse, les acteurs institutionnels et les professionnels (reportages et portraits).
En 2013, après deux ans de classe préparatoire artistique et littéraire, elle obtient sa licence de Lettres Modernes Appliquées à Nîmes (spécialisations en écriture journalistique et littéraire).
Noëllie découvre la photographie en 2014, lors d’un voyage de cinq mois au Canada. Frappée par le gigantisme des espaces canadiens, elle s’y ancre à travers son téléphone portable et réalise ses premiers clichés. Elle s’initie au cadrage alors qu’on lui propose de porter une caméra et de filmer des conférences et des concerts (diffusion live YouTube).
À son retour, Noëllie est web-reporter pour l’UFOLEP du Gard et s’engage dans la Croix-Rouge française pour laquelle elle réalise de nombreux reportages documentant les actions et le travail des volontaires dans le Gard. Concerts, portraits, événements privés et publics : elle enrichit sa pratique et se professionnalise.
Inspirée par des photographes tels qu’Alex Webb et Josef Koudelka, son regard s’oriente aujourd’hui vers un photoreportage d’auteur. Elle aime particulièrement mettre en lumière les démarches et parcours de vie singuliers ; s’aventurer, écouter, prendre le temps et souligner les murmures du monde.
